The National Standard was achieved in April 2008 through the excellent work of Student Voice, a parent focal group and through both curricular and extra-curricular opportunities. |

ICT Mark
The national standard for excellent use of Information Communications Technology across all aspects of school life.
In 2011 St. Mary's was awarded the ICT Mark in recognition of the innovative, safe and integral use of technology used to support and enhance the teaching and learning experience of our pupils. The award recognises schools who have reached a high standard of e-maturity and lead the way in using this to raise standards, build strong links with the school community and inspire pupils to be confident in their use of IT.

International Schools
In 2009 (and again in 2012) St. Mary's was awarded the International Schools Award in recognition of the highly innovative international and community schemes the school has pioneered.
The award recognises schools who are leading the way in instilling a global dimension into the learning experience of all children and young people.

St. Mary's is a member of the London 2012 network and has been awarded a Get Set London 2012 certificate for the school's commitment to living the Olympic and Paralympic values. Get Set is the official London 2012 education programme. |

| NPQH Leadership Development School
St. Mary's Menston is working with the National College for School Leadership in a number of programmes. These range from NPQH Leadership Development to the NCSL Middle Learners Development Programme - with the aim of developing current and future leaders in school.

School Direct
School Direct puts schools at the heart of the teacher training process.
In partnership with Leeds Trinity University and Leeds SCITT, St. Mary’s Menston and partner schools offer graduate training to be a teacher via a school based training route with the expectation of a job offer on successful completion of the course. Training bursaries and scholarships are available where eligible. School Direct offers an opportunity to train alongside serving outstanding teachers in a scheme overseen by an outstanding school. |

Sports College St. Mary’s first achieved Sports College status in 2000 and were last redesignated in 2009. Our specialism in sport has been used in school to raise standards through a range of initiatives that have had a positive impact beyond PE and sport. In the wider community, St Mary’s has been instrumental in developing a range of initiatives with other schools, sports clubs, and community groups, as well as making a significant contribution to community provision and participation in sport.

Teacher Learning Academy School In 2011, St. Mary's was designated a Teacher Learning Academy School. The Teacher Learning Academy provides a framework of continuing professional development for teachers.

Youth Sport Trust Gold Partner
In March 2012, St. Mary's became a Youth Sport Trust Gold Partner School for its commitment to PE and school sport. Youth Sport Trust Partner Schools can demonstrate how they are delivering high quality school sport and improving the PE experience for every young person. Importantly, they are also using sport to raise achievement levels across the school. As a partner, St. Mary’s will receive additional training and development opportunities and will become involved in national education and sport initiatives.
