St. Mary's Catholic High School, Menston was founded by and is part of the Catholic Church.

This means ensuring the school is run according to its Instrument of Government and the Diocesan Trust Deed, that its religious character is preserved and developed, and that pupils obtain high standards of academic achievement."

Mr Bob Lavery
Bob Lavery was born in Easington, Co Durham, educated at St. Aidan’s Grammar School, Sunderland and at De La Salle College of Education, Manchester.Bob worked in the Chemical Industry in Yorkshire for 26 years before taking up an appointment at the University of Leeds.He is involved in various lay ministries within his home Parish of St. Joseph’s Pudsey and also within the wider Diocese of Leeds. In addition, Bob also has roles in helping to organise two of the country’s annual Pilgrimages to Lourdes: one in the diocese of Leeds and the other in the diocese of Westminster.
He has been a member of the Governing Body since 1999 and was elected to the role of Chair of Governors in 2006. Bob is married to Imelda, who is a former Catholic Headteacher, and all four of their children attended St. Mary’s School.
