St. Mary’s, like all faith schools, is different from state secondary schools and is "Voluntary Aided". This means that whilst your taxes go towards paying for all running costs, our school community has to provide 10% of the cost of any completed building works, which we do under the Voluntary Aided Contribution Scheme (VACS).

St. Mary's relies on the contribution of parents to assist governors in raising the capital required to secure investment from the DfE for the essential development of our school. Our original school buildings are almost 50 years old and in constant need of repair and development. Without parents’ support it will be impossible to develop the school environment for the benefit of our students.
Most parents contribute to the voluntary contribution scheme by monthly
Direct Debit of £5, £10 or £15 per family.
New parents will be issued with a Direct Debit mandate during the Summer term 2012. Cheques and cash payments are also welcome.
Any contribution, however big or small will be gratefully received.
Thank you from the Governors
