Advent at St Mary's

Our theme for Advent 2023 is:

We are Advent Pilgrims

We will begin our usual Advent Appeal on Tuesday 28 of November 2023. We thank you in advance for your support in this, as always, and through supporting your children we are able to support our four main Charities: CAFOD, Catholic Care, St Gemma’s and Martin House who are always so very appreciative of monies raised which then go directly to where it is most needed.

Some of our Advent Fund Raising Events include:

Advent Intention and Sixth Form Fancy Dress – Friday 1 December 2023
Pupils will receive an Advent wreath leaf in Form time and be asked to fill it in with their good intention for Advent this year. These will be displayed around school. Pupils will be asked to pay a £1 (via ParentPay). Money received will be donated to Catholic Care.

St Mary’s Carol Service at Leeds Trinity University – Tuesday 5 December 2023 at 7.00pm
We warmly invite all students and their families to attend this special occasion. Further information about this event will be shared with parent/carers in the coming weeks. We hope you are able to join us.

Wear Something Green – Friday 8 December 2023
Pupils will be encouraged to wear something green for CAFOD. Pupils will be asked to pay £1 (via ParentPay). Money received will be donated to CAFOD. We will also ask pupils to bring an item in to donate to the BWCAT Foodbank collection.

Christmas Socks – Friday 15 December 2023
Pupils will be directed to wear Christmas socks for St Gemma’s. Pupils will be asked to pay £1 (via ParentPay). Money received will be donated to St Gemma’s.

Christmas Hats – Friday 22 December 2023
Pupils will be encouraged to wear a Christmas hat directed to wear Christmas hats for Martin’s House. Pupils will be asked to pay £1 (via ParentPay). Money received will be donated to Martin’s House.
