Ski Trip to Folgarida

During the February half-term break, we headed to the Italian Dolomites for a week on the slopes. Folgarida-Marilleva was the perfect destination for excellent snow and pistes catered for a wide range of abilities.

Each day, after a beautiful gondola ride up to the ski area, we enjoyed 5 hours of skiing lessons split by delicious mountain side lunches. The lunch break was a great opportunity to catch up and share anecdotes from that morning’s activity (and tumbles).

Pupils also enjoyed some free time exploring the local resort and sampling the fantastic pizzas at La Buca restaurant.  

Each evening, after a hearty Italian meal at the hotel, we enjoyed a range of events hosted by MaxSki including karaoke, ice skating, taskmaster and two quiz nights.

It was a wonderful week, with the pupils learning new skills, building confidence and independence.

All pupils were great ambassadors for St Mary’s, with the staff proud to accompany them on the trip.
