Year 7 Day of Welcome and Mass of Welcome

As we approach the end of our first half term it is clear that Year 7 have really settled well into life at St Mary’s. Their day of Welcome gave an opportunity for forms to really get to know each other and their form tutors, to appreciate each other’s gifts and talents and see each other in a different light to that of the usual school day.


As well as a range of games and activities, the weather allowed for a lovely walk in High Royds grounds. The day closed with a liturgy where everyone contributed and celebrated what is the first of many such days together.

Mass was celebrated by our Priest Chaplain, Fr David Murray in the Church of Ss Peter and Paul, Yeadon and was very well attended. As well as celebrating and welcoming Year 7, their parents and their families into St Mary’s community, our new Staff were welcomed and commissioned in their service and dedication to the school. Thank you to everyone who supported this.
