In March 2020, the government announced that schools will be closed from 3:00 pm on Friday 20 March until further notice due to the Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic.

In July 2020, the new school Mission Statement “We are a pilgrim school and we journey with Mary to become the person God intends us to be.” was announced. 

From September 2020, all school skirts worn by pupils from Y7 – 11 were expected to be the badged school skirt.

In September 2021, Miss Margaret Hattersley became Acting Headteacher of St. Mary’s
